Holbache Road

A compact single storey rear extension and ground floor remodel of a period red brick home in Oswestry, Shropshire. Modest in size but carefully planned, the new extension is actually smaller than the one it replaced, which allowed us to reinstate the side access path to the garden.

The utility and WC were moved to the centre of the deep floor plan, freeing the back of the house for a bright living space with a large rooflight and glazed doors onto the garden. Two tall windows are aligned on either side of the new room, giving a view from the kitchen across a small courtyard, straight through the extension to the garden beyond.
